Three in one, and why that works

Most classes do one thing. This one does three, because in the first months babies change so quickly that a single activity rarely holds them for a whole session. Yoga gets everything moving, sensory play gives them something new to take in, and massage brings the whole thing back down again before you go home.

The order stays the same every week. That predictability is the point. Within a couple of sessions most babies start to recognise the opening breath and settle into it, and you have a sequence you can use at home on the days that are not going well.

Babies join this course from eight weeks rather than six, because that is the earliest we start baby yoga. If your baby is younger and you would like to begin sooner, the Cuddle Cocoon massage course takes babies from six weeks.

Inside a session

The same calm rhythm, every week

Seven parts, in the same order each time, with the activities themselves changing week to week.

  1. Opening ritual. Grounding and calming breath, to mark the start and settle the room.
  2. Movement. Baby yoga, gently stretching and waking everything up.
  3. Sensory activity. Something new to look at, listen to or feel.
  4. Sensory activity. A second, contrasting one, so there is variety without overload.
  5. Free exploration. Time for your baby to lead and choose what interests them.
  6. Baby massage. Bringing the pace back down with hands on connection.
  7. Closing ritual. A closeness cuddle to finish, every single week.

Common questions

Why does this one start at eight weeks?

Because of the yoga. Baby yoga is not started before eight weeks, so that sets the earliest age for the whole course. Massage on its own can begin from six weeks, which is why the Cuddle Cocoon course takes younger babies.

How is this different from the Cuddle Cocoon massage course?

Cuddle Cocoon is six weeks and focuses entirely on learning the full baby massage routine. The Little Wanderers is eight weeks and combines yoga, sensory play and massage in every session. If you mainly want the massage routine, start with Cuddle Cocoon. If you want a bit of everything, come here.

Is baby yoga safe?

Yes, when it is done gently and at the right age. Baby yoga is slow, supported movement rather than anything strenuous, and you are always the one holding and moving your baby. Nothing is ever forced, and we stop the moment your baby says they have had enough.

Can I join once the course has started?

Yes. Book the full eight weeks before the block begins, or if it has already started you can join for the weeks that are left, with the price adjusted to match. Get in touch and I will tell you what is still available.

Will my baby cope with a full hour?

The session is built to rise and fall, so the busiest part comes early and the calmest part comes last. Feed, change or take a break whenever you need to. Plenty of babies sleep through part of it and still get plenty out of the weeks that follow.
